This place is bomb!!! I'm dependent on Yelp ratings in choosing where to go eat in unfamiliar areas, but I'm still skeptical. The Yelp ratings for this place is earned. We ordered 1 chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu bento box and 2 beef teriyaki and chicken katsu bento boxes. The bento box looked bigger in the pictures, but I wasn't disappointed once I started eating. It didn't look like it at first--maybe because it was my first meal of the day, and I was hungry--but they do give you good portion of meats! The smallest portion is the salad, which is usually the largest in most places. I have a big appetite, and I was satisfied. Aside from the portions, the food is so fresh!!! The chicken and beef teriyaki were seasoned well and cooked well. The chicken katsu was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside--and not oily at all!! It's the best chicken katsu I've had in a long, long, time. The California rolls also tasted freshly made. Overall, the food is as good as, if not better than, most nice Japanese restaurants I've been to (I love raw fish, but my husband usually gets cooked food, which is usually bleh to me). The service was excellent. The young lady at the cashier was so welcoming. My husband wanted to watch the Olympics on their big screen, and she went out her way trying the find the right channel for us to watch. The ambience was surprisingly not busy during lunch hour on a Monday. The place is larger inside than how it looks from the outsde, with many tables and seats. The women's bathroom was nice and clean. I didn't ask my husband and son about the men's. I'm so glad to have found this place. I will come again on my next visit to the area. If I were a local resident, without a doubt this would be my go-to place to eat. Sorry, we didn't even get a chance to take pictures of the food because we didn't put down our chopsticks/forks after the first taste of the food.

It's gotten better IMHO. I ordered #6 combo with beef teriyaki and chicken katsu plus it comes with Cali roll and a gyoza. Service was friendly and they even offered a sample of the chicken curry katsu since they're trying to offer new items and testing. Get beyond the plain store front, the food is good and pleasant place to grab a bite in this part of town by the airport. Bathroom area needs a bit of refreshing to match the front of house. Enjoy!

TL;DR: - Actual Rating: 4.4/5 - Rounded Rating: 4/5 - A nice lunch spot with caring staff and solid food--would come back again. Food: - Beef teriyaki / chicken katsu bowl (4/5): While not mindblowing in terms of flavor, still a very solid performance--rice had great texture, beef was tender, and chicken katsu had good crunch while not being dry (unlike some other chicken katsus I've had from other places). - Fries (5/5): Great crunchy exterior and pillowy softness on the inside--very atypical texture of a french fry in a good way and something I'll remember. Service: - Attentiveness & Relatability (5/5): I normally would not expect lunch places like this to try and woo customers or show great attentiveness, and maybe this is because I came with a group of guys, but still they deserve props for their attentiveness and care. The cashier asked whether or not this was our first time, walked us through the menu, gave us her recommendations, and asked how our meal was going; the cook in the back even gave us free samples to try their katsu and chicken teriyaki! - Wait (4/5): Wait was within expectation, about 10-15 minutes I think? Ambiance: - Welcoming and clean with some nice wooden tables.

It's been a very long time since I have been to this teriyaki spot. It's changed a few times and seemed to try to figure out its identity. I had the Spicy Katsu Burger Deluxe. The katsu had a great crunch and I enjoyed the slaw on top. It wasn't spicy at all. Actually, I didn't taste much heat at all. The bun was good, but the bottom bun got soggy. The fries tasted really good. They had a great crunch and soft inside. Only negative is I didn't understand what value the deluxe option gave. I asked if the "deluxe" meant larger and they said yes. Honestly, they only give you a little bit of fries. If your customer is paying the deluxe combo price, make it worth their while. I will definitely be back again.
